Visitors are always welcome at meetings of the Governing Board, and their suggestions and comments are encouraged.  Those wishing to address the Board may do so when the item appears on the agenda, prior to action being taken by the Board, or under "Communications."  Oral Communications will be limited to three (3) minutes per person and twenty (20) minutes per topic.

If you wish to address the Board, we request that you complete an "Oral Communications" form giving your name, address, and affiliation, if any, in order that an accurate record can be made in the minutes.

 

In compliance with Govt. Code ¤54957.5, non-exempt documents and writings that have been distributed to a majority or all of the Governing Board in advance of a meeting will be made available for public inspection at the District Office (155 North Third Street, Campbell) during normal business hours.

 

Individuals, who require special accommodation, including but not limited to an American Sign Language interpreter, accessible seating or documentation in accessible formats, should contact the Superintendent or designee at least two days before the meeting.

8.1      Special Recognition: Campbell Union School District students nominated for the             Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators (SCCABE) Awards 2012

 

            The District will present for Governing Board recognition, students who were             nominated by their schools for the Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators             (SCCABE) awards.

 

            8.2      Special Recognition: Classified Employees of the Year for 2011-12

 

             The District will present for Governing Board recognition Classified Employees of the Year for 2011-12.         

 

8.3      Special Recognition: School Site Teachers of the Year; District Teacher of the Year for 2011-12

 

          The District will present for Governing Board recognition, 12 School Site Teachers of the Year for 2011-12 and Campbell Union School DistrictÕs Teacher of the Year for 2011-12.

 

A brief reception will immediately follow the recognitions.

10.1    CUSD/SJSU Math Institute Professional Development and Survey Findings

            Information about the CUSD/SJSU Math Institute Professional Development series and survey results will be shared with the Board.

11.1    Minutes of Regular Meeting, April 19, 2012         

            It is recommended that the Governing Board approve the minutes of the regular meeting of, April 19, 2012.

12.      ACTION ITEMS - CONSENT AGENDA

Items may be removed from the consent agenda by consensus of the Governing Board: 

12.1    Personnel Report

It is recommended that the Governing Board approve the Personnel Report as submitted.

        

12.2    Donations

            It is recommended that the Governing Board accept the following donation:

á        $450.00 donated by the Northern California Society of American Foresters to benefit the instructional program at Blackford School.

12.3    Expenditure and Purchase Order Reports – March

It is recommended that the Governing Board ratify the General Fund and Building Funds Expenditure Reports and the Purchase Order contracts that were issued during the periods listed:

1)        Payroll Report for March 2012

2)        Warrant Report for March 2012

3)        Purchase Order Report for March 2012

 

            12.4    Resolution 2011-12-27, Campbell Union School District College and Career Awareness Day: Planning Your Future Beyond the Expected

 

                        It is recommended that the Governing Board adopt Resolution 2011-12-27, Campbell Union School District College and Career Awareness Day: Planning Your Future Beyond the Expected.

12.5    Early Intervention for School Success (EISS) Professional Learning Communities Grant Application – Lynhaven Elementary School

                        It is recommended that the Governing Board grant permission to Lynhaven                                 Elementary School to submit the application to participate in the EISS                                           Professional Learning Communities Grant Program for the 2012-13 and 2013-14                         school years.

            12.6    Santa Clara County Office of Education Pathway Award toward Biliteracy                                      Attainment for Students in Dual Immersion Programs

                        It is recommended that the Governing Board approve District participation in the                                     Santa Clara County Office of Education Pathway Award toward Biliteracy                                     Attainment for students in Dual Immersion Programs.

            12.7    Authorization to Enter into an Agreement with H-GAC and to Piggyback on HGACÕs Bid with SofSurfaces to Purchase Playground Surfacing Materials

It is recommended that the Governing Board authorize Administration to enter into an agreement with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and to piggyback on H-GACÕs bid with SofSurfaces to purchase SofTile playground surfacing for Castlemont Elementary, Lynhaven Elementary, and Sherman Oaks Elementary.

            12.8    Authorization to Bid for Castlemont Elementary Multiuse Room and Sherman Oaks Elementary Multiuse Room

It is recommended that the Governing Board authorize Administration to go out to bid for the Castlemont Elementary Multiuse Room and Sherman Oaks Elementary Multiuse Room.

            12.9    Software License and Support Agreement between CUSD and Illuminate                                                Education, Inc. – May 2012 through June 30, 2013

                        It is recommended that the Governing Board approve the Software License and                         Support Agreement between CUSD and Illuminate Education, Inc. to provide a                          web-based software system for student data and assessment.

12.10  Campbell Elementary Teachers Association (CETA) Contract Proposal to Campbell Union School District for 2011-2012 School Year

            It is recommended that the Governing Board:

1)        receive the 2011-2012 contract proposal to open negotiations on

Article 9 – Hours and Days of Employment, and Article 10 – Compensation, as submitted by the Campbell Elementary Teachers Association;

2)        direct the Superintendent to make the proposal available for public review and reaction as prescribed by law; and

3)        schedule a public hearing on May 31, 2012, for the purpose

            of receiving public response to the contract proposal.
